bright sunny days Bestowed with endless and miles of enigmatic stretches of sand, Cyprus is beach escapist’s paradise. The well developed tourism infrastructure and profusion of tailor made deals by the hotels, pulls in large European mob to its shores every summer. But Cyprus is much more beyond its exotic coastlines: staying in rustic countryside resorts, meandering in cobblestone boulevards and exploring its rugged territories.

The partitioned capital of Nicosia and North Nicosia has a network of narrow, old-town alleys which are squeezed between the tumbledown Venetian walls, which leads to the medieval cathedras and Ottoman era mosques. In Larnaka, the twisting and turning alleyways which diverge south from grandeur Agios Lazaros Church, leads to the beautiful Turkish Quarter named Skala. Skala is swayed with white washed houses which are slowly and steadily inching towards decay. In North Cyprus, an ethereal stone castle, glares down to the splendid old town of Kyrenia, while fortified old city Famagusta is dotted with ruins of Byzantine embellishments which are witness to is past glory.

Revel and Rejuvenate in an alternative beach holiday on the Karpas Peninsula where donkeys outnumber the people and Turtle nests on the vacant strips of sand in late summer. Don’t fancy such extreme solitude. Exotic Cypriot wilderness can be found in convenient distances from the strip of the extravagant coastal resorts. Break out from the party town of Agia Napa to hike or cycle through the alluring coastal paths of Cape Greco. Swoosh through the pine-forests trails of the Troodos Mountains, shrouded up with sheets of fennel, or wear a twitcher hat for a trip to Larnaka’s salt treks, where flamingos swarm in during the spring season.

The best way to grasp the essence of rural Cyprus is to spend time in one of the island’s laid-back villages, which is dipped in rustic splendor and the life here is completely unaware of the hush and rush of the modern world.
Stay at a Gabriel House, which will help you in exploring the Maheras Forest region which is embellished with awe-inspiring village of Lefkara. The mystical Neolithic site of Choirokoitia is also in close vicinity.
